I think that several of my teammates came upon the women that crashed in
Charolotte. Here's some more info....

Last Thursday I think, I was riding toward Charlotte beach from
with John McKone, and an ambulance went flying by. When we arrived at the
covered bridge, we saw a woman had crashed due to a faulty bridge surface.
the bridge has a wood floor made of 1-2 inch boards running length-wise,
John and I noticed immediately that the one board missing was sure enought
cause a severe crash. This woman had dropped her tire into the slot where
board was missing and hit the cement where the bridge meets the pavement. I
the Town of Charlotte deals with all circumstances accordingly, because we
know that many towns will leave bridges or road surfaces in poor shape
something happens. This would not effect a car or truck, or even a mountain
bike, but it certainly effected this woman's day.
John and I stopped to see what could be done and so on, but the crew
scene kindly let us know that by that point they would have to deal with
injuries and we could really not do much. So we went on our way. I looked
news in the paper the next day but saw nothing. Let me know if you have any
info on what happened, her condition, and her name.
