>Dear David: I hope my timing isn't too late for you. Between the tobacco
hearings around the state, and a double dose of chemotherapy, I haven't
been as attentive as I should have been to the computer. Nothing has
happened legislatively with the bike shoulders bill, as we haven't been
in
session. I took a 120 mile bike trip and was attentive to shoulder
issues.
Now would be a great time for cyclists to let me know which recently
paved
roads--last 3 years or so, have lousy shoulders and no apparent
impediments
to better shoulders--guardrails, ledge, ditches, etc. My sense is that
some recent paving projects have put in magnificent shoulders when they
could, and others have pretty much ignored the issue entirely. I plan
to
press again for legislation this session, but can always use concrete
ammunition. K.
