Hi fellow cyclists,

The day is upon us. Starting Saturday, September 23rd, Burlington Bikeways
will officially launch service of the Bike Ferry across the Winooski River.
This link will connect the Burlington Bikepath and the Colchester Causeway
Path into a spectacular 13 mile route! There is a free barbecue and a
ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon on Saturday at the Auer Boat House (northern
terminus of the Burlington Bikepath). Come one, come all!

To make the Bike Ferry a success, we need people to fill 2 JOBS, one paid
and one volunteer:

To make sure the ferry operates smoothly for our customers, we want to add a
volunteer first mate on each ferry to assist our licensed captains. The
first mate position is fun because you get to ride on the water and talk to
all the excited people. Some basic boating experience preferred but no
boating experience necessary. There are 3 three-hour shifts every Saturday
and Sunday (10am-1pm, 1pm-4pm and 4pm-7pm). We need to fill every weekend
slot from now until October 29th. Please e-mail me with a specific shift
and I will confirm that it is open.

We have openings for this weekend!
Saturday 9/23: Open shifts 10am-1pm, 4pm-7pm
Sunday 9/24: Open shifts 1pm-4pm, 4pm-7pm

Attendants are needed to monitor park activity, provide assistance to ferry
users, and ensure that ferry users leave Delta Park as beautifully as it was
found. This position will help us make a good impression on the Delta Park
neighbors this season. The park attendant is meant to be an ambassador,
monitor, and wayfinder. Must be able to work Saturdays from 3:30 pm - 7:30
pm or Sundays 3:30 - 7:30 pm or both through October 29th. Must be outgoing
and like working outdoors. Pay is in the $7-8 per hour range. If
interested, please call Chapin at 652-BIKE or 864-2974.

Enjoy the fall riding weather!
