>Dear Coach,
>
>I am writing to ask your help. I am currently in my second year of Coach Recruitment for the English Lacrosse Association. We hire lacrosse coaches from the U.S.A., Canada and Australia every year and place them in Schools and Clubs throughout the United Kingdom.
>
>My problem is a good one. Our Development Program is currently growing at such break neck speed that I need to hire 50+ coaches next year! To give you an idea of the demand for coaches, last year I hired 35 (men and women) total. This year, I need at least that many women.
>
>Up until a few years ago Women’s Lacrosse was declining in England. Our Coach Recruitment Programme has helped put it back on a growing track.
>
>I need your help to spread the word about our Programme to your athletes. This past year we have had former players from Springfield College, Wellesley, Duke, Washington and Lee, Smith, Hobart, UNC, Loyola, Whittier, American, Franklin and Marshall, Brown, Ursinus, Temple, William and Mary, Bucknell, Lehigh, Penn and the list goes on . . . These coaches have been excellent and we rely heavily on your recommendations. They do not have to be the superstar on your team. They should have a good understanding of lacrosse and hopefully one other sport, as well as the ability to work with children of all ages. We place them in Private Boarding Schools in England, Scotland and Wales and in some schools depending on their background, they will also get to teach. They get room and board as well as a weekly stipend. In some cases, the coach will also get to continue to play on a local club team.
>
>I have made a few changes in the Recruitment Programme for this year to hopefully make it easier for applicants.
>1) In the past, we have only done interviews at the end of May. This year we will have a rolling application and interview process. The sooner a coaches’ application materials are in, the sooner they’ll have an interview and they’ll know within a few weeks whether they have the job.
>2) We will be doing more interviews over the phone.
>3) I will be visiting several Colleges and Universities to talk with teams about our Programme. If you are interested, let me know and I can meet with your team to discuss the opportunities to coach lacrosse abroad.
>
>I know that this is a very busy time of year and I truly appreciate your help. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I have attached a flyer about our Programme for you. Good Luck this Season.
