Overview
During this presentation James Maraviglia will tell you how Cal Poly San Luis Obispo went about developing the necessary interrelationships on its campus in order to improve the student recruitment and admission process.  From creating the vision to real-time results, Jim will discuss how today’s market requires personalized dynamic content and how his unit successfully meets this demand through an integrated environment, fully engaging the campus.
 
From Deans to Department Chairs, Jim will share techniques on leading the entire institution to a viable participation throughout the recruitment process with success stories spanning over 15 years.  He will also cover development experiences that fully utilize multimedia marketing tools, extending their potential from email to personalized web content.

Who is the speaker?  

James Maraviglia currently is the assistant vice president for admissions, recruitment and financial aid at Cal Poly. He has been actively involved in admissions and recruitment for the past thirty years. Since 1991 he has served in the Cal Poly admissions department as director and executive director. Previously, Jim worked with a series of institutions, including Central Washington University , Triton College and Chicago State University .

 

During his career, he has been responsible for reengineering the workplace of two very different institutions, has won awards from several professional associations and written numerous papers on enrollment planning, admissions, recruitment and reengineering the workplace through technology. In addition to his work at Cal Poly, he serves as a professional consultant helping other institutions interested in implementing similar solutions for recruitment and enrollment.
